Did anyone converted ED visa into normal tourist visa inside Thailand? I saw a post where someone was saying that it was possible but I can't find it now.
If anyone had done the change and could share some information it would be very appreciated.
My personal situation/background: on Ed visa, it expires Dec 20, I could renew for another three months in Trang province. I'm currently in Bangkok and considering that might leave the country in the end of January. That's why I would prefer to switch to a regular visa and keep extending in case I want to stay longer.
Thank you all in advance ππΌ π

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry discusses the possibility of converting an ED (Education) visa to a normal tourist visa while in Thailand. The individual mentions their current situation with an ED visa expiring on December 20 and the desire to switch to a tourist visa for flexibility in extending their stay. A comment suggests that after completing school, one may cancel their ED visa extension and apply for a different extension due to COVID-19-related travel issues.
After you finish with your school, in theory you can cancel your extension of stay based on studying, and then at the same time apply for an extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.
hi Benjamin thank you so much for the reply, do you know more about the process? I'm kinda lost I don't know if I should go back to Trang or can I do it in Bangkok with a school letter or something like that?
Any extra information is greatly appreciated ππΌthank you again!!
