Hi, not a visa question per se - I am coming from Finland to BKK Suvarnabhumi and then proceed on a separate ticket to Saigon, Vietnam. Does anyone know if in BKK I can check in to my next flight without going through immigration and all that? Thanks for any help 🙂✌️

If its the same airline you can get you bags checked through to Saigon an you don't have to go through immigration

You will ask for the transfer desk inside the secure area. They will assist you.

Also try to do online check in for the second flight.

Question: Are you certain the second flight leaves from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and not Don Muang (DMK)?

Yes, positive it is Suvarnabhumi. I am just afraid the transfer desk won't help me because the tickets are not combined hence a check in is required.

I'm flying with VietJetAir, I'll have to check if they offer online check-in. I remember Air-Asia offered it but you still had to check in at the counter, maybe because it's an international flight.

are you checking luggage? you need to check and see if your carrier from Helsinki, assuming Finnair have a lugagge agreement with Vietjet? if not, they would only tag the bag to BKK, and not to SGN...

I have no checked luggage, only carry-on.

If it’s a separate ticket you need to exit and recheck in.

I won't have any ckecked bags. In Kuala Lumpur they have a desk located within the security area where you can check in for further flights. I was hoping they had something similar in BKK 😢

You will have to collect bags and check in again.

If you need to collect bags and check in, you likely need to cross immigration and and do that.
