Can I change employers while on a Non-B visa and how does it affect my work permit?

I received my Non-B visa last week, and my work permit is currently being processed. However, due to certain reasons, I need to change to another company. The new company informed me that their processing will take about one month.

I would like to ask:

Is it possible to stop the work permit process with my present company?

If so, can I remain in Thailand with the current Non-B visa for one month while waiting for the new company's documents, even without a valid work permit during that time?

Can I transfer the Non-B visa from my current company to the new company within Thailand?

Please share the information.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a Non-B visa and is in the process of obtaining a work permit. They wish to change employers and have questions regarding stopping the work permit process, staying in Thailand without a work permit, and transferring their Non-B visa to a new company. Comments suggest that the user can stay in Thailand until their visa expires but will likely need to leave the country to obtain a new Non-B visa to work for the new company.

If I cancel my current Non-B visa and leave Thailand, and then apply for a new Non-B visa with a different company after one month from outside the country, will there be any problems? Will I be able to get the new Non-B visa without issues?

If you are on an actual visa rather than an extension of stay you can stay until that visa expires. But that doesn't mean you can use that visa to obtain a work permit with a new company, you will need a new visa for the new company which you will most likely have to leave Thailand for

Because you're still on the initial 90-day non-B visa stamp, you can stay until that stamp ends even if you're not working. It's only an extension that would be effected by not working.

But you'll likely need to leave Thailand to get a new non-B visa as your current permission to stay was based on a specific employer so you won't be able to apply for an extension based on a different employer from the visa you have.
