DTV question. If a company based in Japan were to hire me to attend events in SE Asia on their behalf, including public appearances in Bangkok, would this be allowed as per DTV guidelines?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa may restrict you from working with Thai companies or clients, so attending events on behalf of a Japanese company might not be allowed under DTV guidelines. It's advisable to consult the local embassy or consulate for specific category options, such as the seminars category, but overall a visa change may be necessary.

Yes. Unless you're based in Thailand. Then they will want your last penny.

You can't interact with Thai companies or Thai clients on a DTV so that's a no as far as working in Thailand. You would need to change visas.

I think you can try to apply under seminars category. Best to check with your local embassy/consulate.
