Hey guys 👋🏻 can i still attach my spouse to my visa as a dependent when applying through muay thai classes? Should I buy a new class after 6 month or provide any proofs that I still learn muay thai?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can attach your spouse as a dependent when applying for your visa through muay thai classes. However, your spouse will need to apply separately for a dependent visa using proof of funds, your marriage certificate, and a copy of your Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). There is no need to provide additional proof of your ongoing muay thai classes as part of this application.

When applying for dependants, you don't need to send anything regarding your soft power. It's actually quite simple. A copy of your passport, bank statements with at least 500k thb in their name (if they don't have a bank account under their name then you can give your bank account with a sponsor letter stating you will cover all costs of living) and a copy of your approved dtv.

I used my original 500k for both my dependants. So 500k for main application. Once approved the same 500k for 2 dependants submitted at the same time. I applied in Taipei

Anonymous participant 806 thank you so much for the informatios. will it be the same for US citizens? I also have 2 dependents that are under the age of 20 that will be attending school in Thailand so do I we have to apply for a different VISA for them?

dependants need to be under 20 to be considered dependents.

, that depends on your embassy.

You may need to provide proof of soft power if you're extending your stay in Thailand; this needs to be confirmed soon by immigration. However, so far, you will not need to provide these documents if you choose to exit and re-enter.

Анонимный участник 492 thank you. What kind of proof should I provide to immigration? A new 6 month contract?

There is a video of an interview with a DTV representative in this group that might give you some insight, but it is not confirmed.

Anonymous participant 492 - The interview is with the Deputy Director General of Consular Services for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), which was published in December. He stated that there would be requirements of showing documents, including additional training, etc, when applying for extensions. However, the extension process isn’t handle by MoFA, but by Immigration, and nothing formal has been produced/shared by Immigration

still only a Good Guess.

Much of what we know about this visa came from this guy’s original interview back in July/August. He has more knowledge on the subject than most, if not all of us on this page.

agreed 👍 but he's with the MFA Ministry of Foreign Affairs not the Royal Thai Police Thai Immigration office. The two often differ in issues of Thai Immigration. One with the issue of the Thai Visa and the other with Thai Immigration on arrival and extension. Hopefully it will be a simple process for extension inside Thailand. BUT I believe that the border bounce will be the likely best option.

- I get that, but that statement would apply to most things related to the DTV. However, people often only bring up that he is MoFAs when it comes to documents needing to be reviewed again. If he is saying that they need to be verified again, I doubt immigration is going to take a more liberal stance and say they don’t need to review. Immigration usually takes a more restrictive stance.

@John ******
Yes, I also doubt that immigration policies will be any more liberal than those of this representative.

No one knows yet. We will need to wait for extensions conditions.

First question is yes. Second question is no.

the other person says need to provide proofs of soft power while extension of visa 🤔

You’ll need to distinguish between an extension (which happens without leaving the country) and exiting and re-entering the country. For the extension, documents MAY be required, and immigration will announce the details soon when the first group needs to extend. For exiting and re-entering, no documents are currently needed.

The term “attach” is probably not the best term to use, as it is not like other visas where they are more structurally attached. Once you have your DTV, your spouse would apply separately, submitting proof of funds etc, along with the marriage certificate and a copy of your DTV. Her application would be separate and also cost 10k baht

correct ✅

yes thank you. But shouldn’t my spouse submit my proof of funds?

- From what others have posted, it depends. It seems like some embassies/consulates allow a couple to show the same 500k, while other embassies have asked for 1m baht.
