Can I apply for the remote worker DTV in Thailand while on a working holiday visa in Australia?

I work remotely for an Australian company and I am currently in Australia, on a working holiday visa, looking to apply for the remote worker DTV.

My visa ends soon but I will continue to work remotely. I will have the relevant employment documents and payslips/bank statements etc, but do you think there will be any issues as I am not originally from Australia? I'm not sure whether to apply from here or go elsewhere to apply (maybe Vietnam).

Any advice welcome, Ta.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is currently on a working holiday visa in Australia and is seeking advice on applying for a remote worker DTV while continuing to work for an Australian company. There are concerns about applying from Australia versus another location and whether being a non-Australian resident might cause issues. Community responses indicate that it is possible to apply for the remote worker DTV from anywhere except Thailand, provided all necessary documents are submitted, including a specific employment certificate as a remote worker. It is advised to have at least three months left on the current visa to avoid potential risks in the application process.

I did my remote worker DTV in Sydney. They require the employment certificate to state Remote Worker. Otherwise it was straight forward.

Can be from anywhere and can apply from anywhere other than Thailand. However, must meet all qualifications and must possess all documents.

If you have 3 months or more left on the visa shouldnt be an issue. Less than that might be risky. Some people have had to wait upwards of two months for the dtv to be approved. Just something to consider.

Non-Australian residents in Australia has to provide VEVO (Visa Entitlement Verification Online) in the section of "documents indicating current location."
