Hi!  A couple of questions before I start the DTV application process - apologies if already posted somewhere; I looked around and didn't see answers:

 - my flight to BKK arrives August 30.  Am I too far out to apply for the DTV?  It sounds like LA is getting them out pretty quickly.

 - I rented a condo for the year in Thailand on my trip earlier this month (wanted to get a quasi-office set up).  Will this complicate my application in any way?  If so, should I book a stay at a hotel for the first few days and use that address in Thailand?

 - I was considering LTR since I meet the qualifications, BUT there is no way I will qualify again for the renewal in 5 years.  Since I'm effectively looking at a 5 year visa either way, the DTV made more sense for the lower price. Thoughts?

Do yourself a BIG FAVOR...Get the LTR VISA. It's the best Thai Visa for those who qualify for it.

Did you rent to place in Bangkok to reside there OR are you going to reside in hotels?

You fill in where you are going to reside, I can not make that decision for you.

If you only qualify for the LTR for 5 year it also fullfil your wish for a 5 year visa, same as the DTV.

That’s not true. I applied 7 months before my flight will arrive in December and got approved in 3 days.

The DTV visa is 5 years valid from the day of approval.

When to Apply

While there is no strict "maximum" time limit for how early you can apply, you should generally plan to submit your application at least 15-20 working days before your intended date of travel.
