TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the possibility of applying for a re-entry permit after obtaining a Covid extension while on a 60-day visa. Respondents indicate that a Covid extension is not designed for travel, and that a standard 30-day extension must be obtained first before a Covid extension could even be considered. Overall, it appears that a re-entry permit cannot be acquired under the current circumstances.

Re entry permit on a Covid extension?? Jeez, the most worrying thing is that these people live and breed among us!

You will likely need to take the 30 day tourist extension before being allowed to apply for the Covid extension

You would also need to do the regular 30 days extension before you can apply for the covid extension, meaning you would be past the Covid Extension Deadline.

he can do first the regular 30 days and apply after for COVID before the deadline ( max 45 days before last visa expires ) But no re-entry on COVID ( what is logic )

The country already opened up for awhile now. I doubt they will give Covid extension anymore.

covid extensions are still available until the 25th July. Currently.

I am not sure about re entry permits, however I do have stamps underneath mine that state to acquire a re entry permit if wanting to leave and return. I would suggest speaking to immigration about this when you apply.

I didn’t say it was automatically granted either so I don’t know why you’re responding to me about that. I am completely aware of all the past and current facts surrounding the covid extensions, I don’t need you to show me anything, but thanks. My comment was to tell the OP/others that what you said was opinion not a fact.

Once again, I was pointing out that they are AVAILABLE till said date, as apposed to you stating you doubt they’re giving them out any more. I think the OP has got the gist now, good day.

@Billie-Joe *******
it may be available but it is at the discretion of the officer to approve or reject the extension.

I am aware of how the extensions work. I was merely stating more accurate information over doubts and personal opinions.

and they give it to EVERYONE.

Nope they didn't. Quite a number of covid extension applications were rejected before and there were many people posted about their experiences on fb.

Show me 2-3 that have been rejected

Read back previous post in the forum. Not going to waste my time searching all the postings just to prove my point. Anyway it's not my problem if someone is expecting the covid extension would be approved because somebody here said they give it to EVERYONE. For that person sake, I hope it is approved but if it doesn't, good luck with that.

No. Covid extension is actually called "unable to travel due to Covid 19" so they're not going to let you buy a re-entry permit to travel
