Hello everyone. I need your advice.
At present I have a two-months tourist visa and have got a job offer as a teacher in Krabi.
The point is that the school told me that I need to leave the country and apply for the Non B visa and then, they will process the work permit.
However, a friend of mine with another nationality but similar case, got her Non B visa in Bangkok. I mean, without leaving the country.
She explained to me that when you have 15 days or more with your tourist visa you can still process your Non B visa without leaving the country.
I alreay talked to the school and they apparently contacted the immigration office here in Krabi and this office said that yes I can, but I need to pay 15k THB.
Some people here told me that this is just a made-up fee linked to some corrupt people here in this office.
My question is. Can I get the Non B in Bangkok having more than 15 days left with my tourist visa even when the school is located in another province?
Or are they going to send me back to Krabi where I'm "supposed" to paid this huge amount just for corruption?
Thanks for your time! :)
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user with a two-month tourist visa received a job offer in Krabi and needs advice about applying for a Non B visa. Their school has informed them they must leave the country to apply for the visa, while another person managed to get the visa in Bangkok without leaving. The user questions whether they can apply in Bangkok despite their job being in Krabi, highlighting a potential corruption issue with the immigration office in Krabi that demands a large fee.
