Can I apply for a DTV visa in Thailand after holding a work permit for two years?

Hello, I had a work permit and stayed by it for last 2 years in Thailand.

I want now to apply for DTV visa,

I have bank proof and freelance employment contract. I heard that to get DTV right after work permit could be difficult. Is that true does anyone applied for that? I want to apply in Vietnam

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on transitioning from a work permit to a DTV visa in Thailand and is concerned about potential difficulties in the application process. Community comments provide insights, suggesting that it's feasible to apply for the DTV visa after a work permit, but applicants must demonstrate a clear separation from their previous employment and provide appropriate documentation. Some users recommend staying on a work permit longer or applying in a neighboring country, while others caution about the limitations of the DTV visa compared to other long-term visa options.

You can do it, but you have to really show that you’ve cut ties with your previous job, and also a good reason why you left your previous job.

If you in any way can stay on a real long term visa, that is far far better, than changing to the inferior DTV tourist visa.

But if you want to loose rights, such as working with Thai customers and the possibility of a Thai bankaccount, go on.

Start by doing proper research from trustworthy sources.

You can do this, but when you go to activate your DTV visa, I advise you to order the green corridor service, meeting an officer at the airport.

I got DTV soft power last week after 7 years of Non-B and work permit. It was Vientiane and visa officer was convinced by my justification of taking a break from work
