Anyone have experience transitioning from Business Visa to DTV?

Any complications around it? I know you have to cancel the work permit before applying but just want to make sure I understand any complications.

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Transitioning from a Business Visa to a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand may come with complications, notably the need to cancel any associated work permit. It's advised to consider the disadvantages of a DTV, such as losing rights to hold a Thai bank account. Additionally, switching visas may require a noticeable job change to avoid suspicion of continued work with Thai clients. It's recommended to seek more information as this process has been widely discussed in the expat community.

Do not change to the inferior DTV tourist visa, if you in any way can avoid it.

You will loose rights, most notably for many loose of right to have a Thai bankaccount.

A genuine long term visa is by far the best, for staying long time in Thailand.

You may need to make a noticeable jobchange, to avoid suspicion about continuing working whit Thai clients.

This has been discussed extensively numerous times, so you should use search to get the answers.
