Do not change to the inferior DTV tourist visa, if you in any way can avoid it.
You will loose rights, most notably for many loose of right to have a Thai bankaccount.
A genuine long term visa is by far the best, for staying long time in Thailand.
You may need to make a noticeable jobchange, to avoid suspicion about continuing working whit Thai clients.
