Hi group.

Is there any issue to apply for a 90 Non-O retirement visa in CW although my TM30 is in Prachinburi and i will declare my residence to be there.

I entered Thailand by air on a 30 day visa exemption on oct 2

I have 800+ k THB on my Citibank Savings account but Prachinburi won’t accept Citibank as an eligible bank.

I am planning on driving to bkk tonight and go to cw tomorrow

Thanks

Robert Lagas, hopefuly this time, I got the terminology right 🤗

TLDR : Answer Summary
Robert Lagas is seeking advice about applying for a 90 Non-O retirement visa at the Chaengwattana immigration office while his TM30 registration is in Prachinburi. He has concerns about his Citibank account being accepted as proof of funds and whether he can apply in Bangkok despite his residence being registered elsewhere. The community is discussing the eligibility of Citibank for evidencing funds, the importance of proper residency for visa applications, and experiences with immigration offices.

Citibank is not a Thai bank , immigration will no longer accept any accounts with Citibank..

: I thought funds always had to come from overseas. How can that transfer show as overseas?

is that a fact (that they won’t accept Citibank statements)? There are some other experiences recently reported here.

If I was a betting man I'd bet you do not get the extension at Chaengwattana because you don't live in Bangkok. :/

They went to zone immigration a while back meaning you use the immigration office in the zone where you live and you cannot pick and choose where you go.

I would certainly appeal the decision of the immigration office where you live. Their interpretation is not correct you CAN use Citibank.

i can try to get a TM30 from Bkk except that my landlord won’t help (but that’s another issue); i just thought it would be easier in Prachin where my gf owns a house (I kind of share my time between both places).

As for appealing, the more I insisted, the weirder the answers got. As i will be in Vietnam on 26-27 (a weekend), i was told to apply for a visa there during my stay (sic), then i was told i could not apply for extension in Thailand anyway, etc. I think that IO was uncomfortable being confronted with a new case and just wanted the issue to be dealt with somewhere else by someone else.

CW requires proof of your address in Bangkok along with TM30 in Bangkok. Better be prepared.

I heard someone couldn't get extensioin being over 50 with his receipt / reservation of short term stay at a hotel.

Could he just declare his residence in Bangkok until he gets the non-O and then change it to Prachinburi after? That would give him a month to move the money and still have it seasoned in a "real bank" two months before his first extension.

i am trying to get all the paperwork (TM30) in Bangkok as we speak. Anyway will see how it goes in CW tomorrow 😬 one thing for sure, i will never apply for a visa in Prachinburi anymore (and i won’t explain publicly why)

I doubt that you can use CW as your home residence is not in Bangkok.

To make it one discussion in one place: Alexandre Werkoff Tod Daniels prachinburi io does not recognize Citibank as an eligible bank.

Instructed me to get a certificate from French embassy in bkk (did not understand what kind) and transfer my 800 k to a “real bank” after opening an account (based on a 30 day visa exempt?? Wtf).

I am tired.

Will try in CW tomorrow.

On the proof of fund, Citibank is familiar with the process and issues letter, statements (all stamped and signed) in a matter of minutes.

i would say no as you can not just visit another area to apply for a Non Immigrant O visa, but let see what the CW expert

is going to tell us.
