Retirement questions

So i hope to apply for tr visa or visa exempt with the intention to apply for 90 day non o visa then ext of stay based on retirement

Coming from Honolulu usa!

Estimated travel date end of March!

I've just completed 3rd transfer using transferwise to achieve the requirements of 800,000 in thai savings acc my name!

I only had an account with K BANK

So my question is besides 2 months seasoning will i be required to show origin of $ from usa?

I thought i understood not necessary, but now not sure!

Unfortunately i didn't have a Bangkok bank acc!

I've searched and have seen several post that main office of K

Bank can provide a letter stating funds originated over seas

Can anyone verify or advise what possible options are available!

As everyone knows a lot of conflicting information, so hopefully someone will give me some guidance so i can start the travel arrangements with confidence! MAHALO

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discussion centers around concerns about the requirement to show the origin of funds from abroad when applying for a 90-day Non-O visa based on retirement in Thailand. Many users believe that there is no requirement to prove where the 800,000 THB originated, especially since the funds have been transferred into a Thai bank account. However, there are conflicting opinions regarding varying policies at different immigration offices, which adds to the confusion for the applicant. The individual plans to check the latest requirements with their immigration office upon arriving in Thailand.

Hi Bobby, I don’t think you will be asked to show the origin of money from US.

Appreciate your information

I'll request my g f in udon province

Meanwhile i will check if i can apply stateside for the non o

Now u can understand confusion

Lloyd Turner clearly stated no requirement where funds came from

But i saw another post where you advised different offices have different policy...which seems to be the issue

I sure wish Honolulu consulate was open. They were so laidback

Any way LMK any further update u may discover amongst your contacts

Super getting advise from u

Okay, I will relay this information;

BEFORE (as in pre-covid shit show) when you applied for a 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement at Chaengwattana Immigration office you HAD to show the funds originated from overseas to apply. There was NO seasoning but you needed to prove they were transferred in from abroad.

Someone recently sent me a photo of the new requirements to get an in country Non-O visa (although this was based on marriage to a thai) and it did NOT have the "funds must come from abroad" requirement.

SO to be completely honest I don't know IF there is that requirement or not when applying for an in country 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement

This is the OLD sheet listing the requirements to get an in country Non-O visa based on being over 50 (retirement). It was the one handed out by Bangkok & Jomtien and it clearly states proof of overseas transfer .

Ok to be clear.... No need to provide proof of origin of 800,000. Thats my main concern....

Seasoning not issue its now in k bank so when i apply for retirement ext. It will be 3 months from now

@Bobby ********
your main concern once you get OUT of quarantine is to high-tail it to your immigration office and get the current hand out listing the requirements for you to apply for a 90 day Non-O visa in country.

There is NO seasoning required for a Non-O visa application but until you get the current hand out listing the requirements you won't know if you need to prove the funds came from abroad or not :/

Omg it was soo Hawaii style but. All visas done by la dc etc

@Bobby ********
sorry I made the mistake in thinking that consulate in Honolulu was still open it's not. AND you do need to go thru LA to get your visa and you do need to apply online FIRST before you send your passport to them to get the visa stuck in and sent back to you

If you do come in on a 45 day visa exempt OR a 60 day tourist visa there is no requirement that the money be in your account any length of time to apply for the in country 90 day Non-O VISA based on retirement.

The 2 month seasoning requirement is only for the year extension you apply for AFTER you have the Non-O visa
Lloyd ********
There is no requirement to show where the 800k came from.

@Ll***
for a yearly extension there definitely isn't BUT to get the in country 90 day non-O based on retirement I'm not so sure and don't have a current hand out. :/

I DO have the hand out for getting a Non-O based on marriage and it does NOT have the origin of funds clause like the old retirement one did :(
