Ok let’s get confusing. I have an English and a US passport. My partner has a US passport. We currently live in Costa Rica. Can we get a 60 or 90 day tourist visa for Thailand from the consulate in Costa Rica or does it have to be from a consulate in the country of origin or our passport. Or best to do it in Thailand if possible

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about obtaining a 60 or 90 day tourist visa for Thailand while residing in Costa Rica, holding both English and US passports. Community responses suggest that the Thai consulate in Costa Rica may issue the visa, but it's essential to confirm residency requirements. Alternatively, travelers can enter Thailand visa-exempt and extend their stay without a visa.

Come in visa free and extend

If you live in Costa Rica then as a resident the Thai embassy may issue the visa. Best to ask them. Or fly in exempt ( no visa) and extend, as suggested.

60 day tourist visa can be from any Royal Thai Embassy. Or just enter Thailand visa exempt, which can be extended 30 days and sort out long term as you wish

You can't get a tourist visa in Thailand, that would make no sense.

You need to contact the Thai consulate in Costa Rica and ask them. Some consulates only offer services to residents of the country they are in. You can't get Thai visa from the US because you're not in the US to apply.

with a US passport you can go to Thailand without a visa and get 30 days visa exempt. You can apply one time for a 30 day extension. That's 60 days total.
