Can I apply for a 60-day Covid Extension Visa after extending my Tourist Visa in Thailand?

Excuse me!

I recently entered Thailand with 60 days Tourist Visa, I know I can extend 30 days more in any immigration office.

My question is, after I extend 30 days more, can I still apply 60 days Covid Extension Visa before 25 July? If yes, what exact document I need to bring?

I hold Chinese passport.

I'm in Bangkok right now but planning to go to Koh Tao, I just called Koh Tao immigration office, one staff said I need to prove I can't go back to China or something, I asked what exact proofs or documents I should prepare, she said something on phone call but I really can't understand her language speaking as my side was noisy.

If some immigration offices are easier for applying extendsion 60 days, such like Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Krabi, Phuket or Bangkok, then I would go.

Anyone have this experience?

Any suggestions? Please!

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a 60-day Covid Extension Visa after extending their 60-day Tourist Visa by an additional 30 days. They seek clarity on the necessary documents, especially since communication with the Koh Tao immigration office was unclear. Suggestions from the community point out varying requirements across different immigration offices, with Bangkok and Phuket being easier to navigate. Key documents generally include copies of the passport, proof of TM30 filing, a filled TM7 application form, and an acknowledgment of terms. Additionally, a document proving inability to return to China may be required.

Pattaya is more easy in document requirement, but they need you come many times to complete the extension process. (Some immigration office need you get letter from embassy, some need you return ticket, but Pattaya immigration does not these document)

They are pretty strict and probably won't give it too you. Last time I had to provide evidence I couldn't get home or as in my case show I needed to be here for a something that was unmissable.

They'll certainly grant it to a Chinese national. China remains closed. It would be terrible to kick out Chinese when they can't get back to their country and to force them into quarantine.

I'm near certain the OP can get an extension no issue.

You’ll need this stuff. Not all offices have the same requirements so it may be slightly different depending on which of the 70+ offices you use.

A copy of your passport data page (signed),

A passport photo,

Proof of filing a TM30,

A copy of your departure card (TM6) (signed)

A copy of your latest entry stamp (signed)

A copy of any previous Covid extension stamps (signed) (Phuket requires this other offices may not)

In Phuket they require the copies to be in portrait not landscape. This means the top of your passport aligns along the shorter side of the A4. Except for the Data Page where most passports are “sideways”

(Other offices may not be as pedantic)

A filled out TM7 (application form for extensions) - the form doesn’t have a space for your email or phone number but just write it on the back (page 2).

A filled out STM2 (acknowledgement of terms of temporary stay)

A filled out “I don’t want to leave because of Covid form” - I have no idea if it has an official name or number.

And 1,900 baht.

The forms are available at your local office. Most have places on site or nearby that can do the copies and photos.

Many offices will give you a “under consideration” stamp requiring you to return somewhere from 5-14 days later where they will stamp for the remaining 60 days. If they do you MUST use the same office to “close out” that stamp. For example you cannot get a “under consideration” stamp from Bangkok and close that out in Chiang Mai 15 days later.

If it’s your first time applying for the extension they’ll date it from the day you apply, so you’d lose any remaining days you have on your current stamp. Subsequent applications would possibly be added on to the existing stamp.
