I’m a freelancer, and while my income isn’t fixed, it is consistent, I earn between $2,000 to $5,000 per month. I can also show 500K THB in my bank account.

I’m planning to apply for the DTV visa and move to Bangkok in January 2026. I want to know if anyone here has applied for the DTV visa as a freelancer without business registration or formal work contracts. My work is completely open-source: I do smart contract audits and bug bounties, so I don’t need client contracts or a traditional employer. I can show Income tax returns and Paypal invoices.

If anyone has successfully gotten approved under similar conditions, please share your experience and any valuable tips.

Can you provide any evidence you can show them for the work you do? A portfolio, testimonials, online bookings etc. Then explain it in a covering letter. As long as you can prove it, it should be fine.

Setup a company with you as a sole director and give yourself permission to work remotely in Thailand. Show income tax statements. You don't need contracts as your bank statements show your monthly income. This is what I did in the UK and it worked. It is a lot more difficult as a sole trader/self employed

You will need a business to show papers for

Careful about throwing the word “freelancer” around in Thailand though. Lol

Hey man, unrelated to your question but, fellow auditor here. I'm just surprised to see someone from the industry outside of CT. Where do you hunt, Immunefi, Hackenproof?

I have done it. Best wishes. You just have to satisfy the ambassador that you can do it remotely.
