Can foreigners with visas expiring in April delay their extensions to avoid overcrowding at immigration offices?

Is it possible to request that all foreigners needing an extension for visas that expire in mid April or later to wait, so as not to overwhelm immigration offices. Just wait until mid April or closer to your expiry date.There are many of us who are sorting visas that expire in March. If we could pace the flow of people into the offices, it would be safer and easier for everyone.

I know, it's difficult to sit still in times of trouble, but two weeks could mean whole new solutions.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A community member suggests that foreigners needing visa extensions, particularly those expiring in mid-April or later, should wait to request extensions until closer to their expiration dates. This could help reduce overcrowding at immigration offices. The forum participants discuss the practicality of this approach, share personal experiences, and emphasize the importance of timing when dealing with visa extensions.

I just got back from CW Immigration. There were less people there today than I have ever seen.

AND the fact that they moved all the tourist visa extensions, 90 day reporting an TM30's to another location helped too :P

Yeah, after the initial rush and panic, the numbers should be lower than usual as most people are already sorted.

Because of the volume of people showing up at the immigration office I'd say definitely wait until you have a week or LESS left on your current stamp. AND some offices will only do it when you have a day or two left on the stamp. I'd say wait..

So
@T**
are you advising that those on the retirement visa (non immigrant O) not go to immigration early in the 45 day period before their extension expires, but to just go one week or two days before? I am concerned that we may not have freedom of movement in coming months to go to the bank (if they are still open two months hence) to order the required bank statements/letters to get the extention. Otherwise you could have multiple retirees unable to get their extention/meet the requirements/have to relinquish their rental properties/pack and store their entire belongings and rehome their pets with only two to seven days to accomplish this? Surely it is better to get the extension sooner rather than later so that if applications for extension are unsuccessful, there are still flights out of Thailand

Great idea, but is it possible to ask to leave the country before your admitted to stay date? I know that this question is what nobody wants to hear or read, Thailand is the place to be, but the state of emergency and the growing numbers of victims of this virus, will have effect on normal live. It is not the place to stay for holiday reasons.

I realise it is not a holiday any longer but lot of flights have been cancelled I am now owed from 2 such flights one who will not refund and only issue voucher for future travel and another that have told me refunds take about 45 days so am unwilling to risk losing any more money to airlines only to have no money to feed myself if they cancel again
