One warning though if your kid enters on a thai passport and your kids passport expires whilst you are in Thailand and they aren't on a tabiban it will be a pain in arse to leave the country and renew their passports without a thai Id number
, I don't know who told you thaiz can't have multiple passports when they get older but they most certainly can. There is NOTHING written in thai law that prohibits it. All it says is IF asked (which no one has ever been) the thai will pick on nationality.
I know a thai who holds a thai, an aussie and a brit passport and has no problems flying out on his thai passport and entering another country on one of the other passports.
When you check in show both passports to the airline (so they know you don't need a visa in the thai passport) but when you stamp out, just present your thai passport. Then when you get to where ever, just present the UK passport.

M8, sorry for being negative, it's not rocket science! My son is a dual national and who will know! Data protection act my friend and the uk allows dual nationality so that won't share data about naionality unless something serious and I've been through thai immigration loads of time with my son and they have seen both passports and no issues
. Check in Heathrow with your UK Passport. Check in BKK with your Thai Passport. Check Out Thailand with your Thai Passport, Check In to the U.K. with the U.K. Passport. Really is that easy.

Anyone just using a Thai passport requires a visa. As said, check in with British passport, exit Thailand on Thai passport, enter U.K. on British passport and exit on same. Enter Thailand on Thai passport.

I don't think kids need visa until they reach a certain age
My kid only has a UK passport (his mum is Lao) and he had a non O visa for Thailand and is now attached to my Extension. Kids do need visas although they are not fined or banned if they overstay. They do however get an overstay stamp in their passport.
If your going to the UK and into Europe I would say use a UK Passport - if you use a Thai Passport they will need Visas which might be more involved than you would think! But as they are kids I cannot be definitive.

Leave Thailand using Thai passport, entry England using UK passport, on return entry Thailand with Thai passport. No visa needed that way.

I would still check with the Airline before I was standing at check-in!

You show the check-in staff the UK passport aswell.

If you try to leave Thailand on a Thai Passport for a destination that requires a Visa for such the carrier may be hesitant to board you - I would check with tbe Airline beforehand.

I'd think if you used their Thai one, you'd need a visa for them.
