Hi, I need some information, maybe someone can give an answer.

Im Indonesian, currently working here in Bangkok with BOI.

Is it possible to apply dependent visa here? For my wife and kids.

Because I have different information from Chamcuri Immigration and Chaengwatthana Immigration.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
As an Indonesian working in Bangkok under a BOI visa, you can indeed apply for a dependent visa (Non-O visa) for your wife and children. The visa process typically involves submitting documents that prove your relationship, your financial stability, and your work status. It's recommended to approach the BOI One Stop Service Center, as they are familiar with these applications and can address any discrepancies you may have encountered at different immigration offices.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
  • Join the Thai Visa Advice Facebook Group to ask your questions, and get advice from others.

You can apply for a dependent visa (Non-O visa) for your wife and kids here in Bangkok since you’re working under a BOI (Board of Investment) visa. Typically, dependent visas for family members are processed through the same channels as your BOI visa. However, different immigration offices may provide varying information due to specific office procedures or interpretations of the regulations.

Here’s what you can do:

1. BOI Office: Since you are under a BOI visa, it’s often faster and more efficient to handle visa matters directly with the BOI One Stop Service Center. They specialize in processing dependent visas for BOI-sponsored employees, and this could bypass any confusion at different immigration offices.

2. Documents Required:

• Marriage certificate (for your wife).

• Birth certificates (for your children).

• Your BOI work permit and visa.

• Proof of financial means to support your dependents (bank statements, salary slip, etc.).

3. Application Location: Try reaching out to the BOI One Stop Service Center in Chamchuri Square. They may clarify the discrepancies you encountered at Chaengwatthana Immigration.

Yes, a foreigner in Thailand with a valid work permit can sponsor their spouse and children for a non-immigrant visa (typically an "O" visa). This allows them to stay in Thailand for the duration of the work permit holder's stay. The process involves submitting the necessary documents, including proof of relationship, financial stability, and the work permit. It's advisable to check with the Thai immigration office for specific requirements and procedures.

thanks for your advice! I already came to Chaengwatthana Immigration and cannot proceed for Non-O visa because I am BOI Holders.

And then I went to Chamcuri Immigration but the process must be handled by the company. But I doubt my company will take care of that. Any suggestions? It is currently not possible to apply from outside of Thailand.

I am not familiar with the BOI procedures. Maybe if your company could give you guidance. I think it would be part of the company's responsibility to assist with bringing employee's families to Thailand.
