I have a Filipino friend. They entered Thailand once by air, got another 30 days at immigration. Can they get a further 30 days at immigration or maisai border and back into Thailand? I know you're allowed 2 by land but not sure about Filipino people

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Filipino can extend their initial 30-day visa exempt stamp once at immigration but must leave the country to obtain a new entry. Since they entered Thailand by air and received a 30-day extension at immigration, they can go to a border such as Mae Sai and re-enter Thailand for another 30-day visa exempt entry, taking advantage of the allowance for two land entries in a calendar year.

Oh well, that's great news because they were thinking of going to Laos already lol

Even if they did enter once by land on a visa exempt entry (extending at the immigration office for 30 days doesn't count as an entry) they could still do one more land entry before they hit the two in a calendar year.

And yes, Filipinos are on the list of people who can only do TWO crossings by land for a 30 day visa exempt entry in a calendar year.

You sure that's ok for a Filipino who's entry by air, got another 30 days at immigration then go to maisai for another 30 days? Equalling the 2 by land

Yes. Entered by air then they got another 30 days at immigration. So they can get another 30 or even 30 after that in maisai? Tod Daniels

your post says they entered thailand once by AIR, got a 30 day extension at the immigration office. According to that post they haven't entered thailand by land at all

They can go to the Mae Sai - Tachiliek border and get another 30 day visa exempt entry.

no, on this entry you said they already extended it for 30 days at the immigration office. They have to leave the country and come back

So can they go to immigration or maisai for another 30 days? Entry by air then they got 30 more at immigration

You can only extend a 30 day visa exempt stamp by 30 days once. Then you hafta leave the country

Seeing as they came i by air that visa exempt entry doesn't count against the TWO 30 day visa exempt entries Filipinos can get by a land crossing in a calendar year.

They can border-bounce and get a 30 day visa exempt entry
