TLDR : Answer Summary
A Taiwanese national can apply for a visa on arrival at Don Mueang Airport when traveling from Malaysia to Bangkok. The visa costs 2,000 baht and allows for a stay of 15 days. In addition, it is necessary to obtain a ThailandPass to enter, which requires proof of vaccination status and insurance.

Taiwanese national can get a visa on arrival at the airport. It’s 2,000 baht and they get stamped in for 15 days (arrival day is day 1).

They will need to get a ThailandPass to enter to show vaccination status and insurance.

hi Stuart, I'm in a similar situation. Can a Taiwanese citizen apply for an extension if the trip is 19 days long?

depending on the office you use, you could apply, but the application will be denied and you’d be given 7 days to leave the country. All extension applications are 1,900 baht.

Overstays are 500 baht per day if you get to the airport. Or a can of worms if you are caught at a checkpoint before you get there.

The application for extention will definitely be denied?

Visa on Arrival is not extendable. Therefore it will be denied.
