Hello. I’m scheduled for a non-immigrant visa appointment at Savannahket, Laos Thai consulate general this Monday, August 5th.
However, I’m late to the game and just learned about the DTV visa and I’m a good fit as a digital nomad/workcation. I have everything I need but I’m currently in Thailand and I know I must be out of the country to apply.
Do I need to return to the United States and apply for the DTV visa or can I simply go into Laos and apply for the DTV at the Savannahket Thai consulate general during my appointment
Thank you in advance for any advice or information.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they can apply for a DTV visa at the Thai consulate in Savannakhet, Laos, during their scheduled appointment, despite currently being in Thailand. Based on community responses, it is confirmed that they can indeed apply for the DTV visa at the Savannakhet consulate, and they do not need to return to the U.S. for the application.
Would you please keep us posted on how the DTV visa process goes in Laos. 🙏🏻 My husband and I are exploring the options where to apply for DTV visa in couple months.
