I’m looking to get a DTV or Smart Visa. I have an old passport and need to get a new one. Would I not qualify cause my new passport is too new? I own a digital web development company.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the eligibility for obtaining a DTV or Smart Visa with a new passport. It is clarified that having a new passport does not disqualify the applicant from acquiring either visa type. Comments point out specific conditions for the Smart Visa related to the type of employment and company size. Additionally, it is suggested that getting a new passport can help avoid future immigration issues, such as transferring visas.
It doesnt make a difference, but you won't have to worry about getting immigration to transfer to your new passport or if they start only giving the visa to the expiry date as they do with other extensions.
