TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, there are types of DTV visas available for freelancers and artists in Thailand. Applicants must demonstrate income from their creative work, such as selling art through galleries located outside of Thailand. Additionally, a professional portfolio and evidence of business interactions with clients are often required. While there are no strict limitations on the type of work as long as self-sufficiency can be proven, participation in events such as music festivals does require appropriate permits.

There are no limitations. As long as you have the necessary cash and can show that you can support yourself while in Thailand withba bonafide job, the work is immaterial.

I have a DTV as a freelancer artists, besides the normal income documents you'd need to also show them a professional portfolio of your works and some talks with your clients proving your business

Actually, one of the soft powers mentioned on the original DTV poster is “music festivals”, even though it is not clear what exactly that means. If you attend music festivals as an audience member, you don’t need a longterm visa like the DTV and if you perform at a festival as a musician, you still need a work permit.

Yes. You apply as a freelancer / digital nomad / talent. You would need to show income from your work (eg, you work with a gallery based outside of Thailand who sells your work to clients outside of Thailand).

🙂 - if you do work with a gallery get them to write a letter outlining your relationship and how it works (eg, the commission rate, how long you've worked with them, the amount of sales you make in a year, and their commitment to continuing to show your work etc). As some people in this comment thread have shown, people don't really understand how the arts work, so you really just have to be clear about how it all works.

Yes you can creatively make a Pad Thai or draw a picture on your break at a Muay Thai lesson. 👍

I don't think the OP is that talented unfortunately. This post is not very artistic IMO.

or - "and that is a wild guess for an artist" - you could earn a living out of that skillset 😄
