TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about visa services that collaborate with the Thai consulate in Savannakhet, Laos. Comments suggest that having the proper documentation, such as a Thai ID, house book, marriage certificate, and passport, negates the need for an agency. Some users mention the possibility of finding agents outside the consulate but emphasize that the process is straightforward if the necessary documents are in order.

Beats me.why people use agencies personally

You shouldn't have a problem as long as you have copies of your wife's thai i/d, her house book listing, the marriage certificate and your passport.
They aren't gonna be able to help you if you don't have all the documentation and if you do have all that is required you don't need their help anyway.

Gilles, you are confusing a visa you get from a thai consulate with an extension of stay you get at the immigration office :/
They are not in any way shape or form the same thing.

There should be some 'agents' hanging around outside the consulate
What is the type of visa you are wanting to get there and why would you need an agent? It's not a busy consulate and if you meet the requirements you get the visa.
