Do any Thai language schools offer fully online programs?

I would like to learn Thai language and I would like to obtain an ED visa, but I do not want to be stuck in one city, if possible.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry reveals a desire to find Thai language schools that provide fully online programs suitable for obtaining an ED visa. However, responses indicate that while some schools offer online courses, obtaining an ED visa is not feasible without being physically present at the school for processing, as extensions must be handled at the immigration office related to the school's location. Additionally, comments outline the strict requirements and costs associated with the visa process.

It’s a bit late to do it now if you are on the visa amnesty since the whole process will take around 4 weeks. That was what I got quote for couple weeks ago. This is the school in Chiangmai. The whole thing will cost you about
*****
B. The price they showed is only for the courses fee, not include visa extension (3000B), convenient fee of switching within the country (
*****
B) and renewal fee every 3 months. You can email them to see if you can still do it. You will need to be there physically to do the paperwork. The requirements are strict tho, not everyone on visa amnesty can get it.

Will this work for a second year ED visa?

That's a silly price. CMU (very likely to get more than 1 year ED visa) charge around 36,000 and ILs (both in Chiang Mai) is much less (12 months and 6 months ago respectively).

Hi, my school is offering 24,900 Bath (NOT
*****
Bath) for 12-month Thai for Foreigners Course (eligible for 12 months ED Visa) The 15% discount for 12-month course ran out in June. We are also offering 16,900 Bath for 6 month Thai for Foreigners Course (eligible for 6 months ED Visa). There is no additional charges from us to arrange visa documentation for students who will apply for a Non-ED visa outside or inside Thailand. There are third-party fees, e.g. immigration fees but not the school fees.

I don't know where you got this 55k number from. The total for this school is roughly 37k for everything included. Except quarterly extensions

it’s when I added everything up, including the extension for 1 year every 3 months. It was for me to compare to the volunteer visa without quarterly extension. It’s not 37k because the first time you get it already costs 41K (24K for courses fee+ 14k for visa switching within country fee+ 3k extension fee). Did you talk to them? Once you email them, they will give you a list of other costs I mentioned.

The course discount ended last month actually. 😅 my bad for thinking the extension fee is 3000 instead of 2000. Correct price would be around 46k.

You are not gonna be able to get extensions of stays on the ED visa because you have to apply for the extension at the immigration office where the school is located :O

So while there are schools that currently offer their programs online, you aren't gonna get an ED visa from studying that way :(

Thanks
@T**
. So, independent of needing to apply for the extension at the local immigration office, are there any online Thai courses that offer ED visas?

Sorry
@Chris*****
. Maybe I didn't (and still don't) understand.
@T**
said in his first post that the problem is that I'd need to apply to the local immigration office. I'm clarifying and asking that if I were willing to travel to the local immigration office, then are there online programs that offer ED visas.

I see you googling "thai language schools thailand" and contacting them one by one. I don't know of any personally. Sorry.

Thanks Tod. Occasionally trekking to whichever city the school is located in would be fine. I would just like mobility most of the time.

Do you know which schools offer their programs online?

The problem is NOT finding a school to enroll in that teaches online (because until the beginning of this month they ALL taught online or closed) it's finding a school that can get you an ED visa.
