Does anyone know if any Thai embassies or consulates are currently issuing Thai Visas of any description ? Either within Asia or Europe ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Thai embassies and consulates are not issuing traditional visas as before. Currently, individuals must go through the "permission to enter Thailand" process, and only certain demographics can apply for visas. The situation is complicated by COVID-19 restrictions, requiring applicants to meet specific entry requirements before being granted visas.

Okay, this seems like we're going around in circles. The O/P is IN thailand now on amnesty, they are not IN another country.
Their option is to wait out the amnesty and see what the government tells amnesty holders to do.
OR
leave the country, go back to where ever you came from, wait there and see if you can apply for permission to enter the country and meet the requirements to enter. (100K USD covid 19 insurance, fit to fly, 14 day booking in an Alternative State Quarantine Facility, certificate to enter, etc)

Of course I would then have to apply to be able to come back and would NOT have the work permit to be allowed back in . I was under the impression I needed the work permit ( might be an incorrect assumption π)

Ok I understand. Yes it seemed a little too straight forward. From what I could read on Thai Embassy websites etc it's possible to still apply for entry. You're saying that's all one can do is apply for it but not receive at this point?

That's not the worst situation I don't think though. If people are wondering how to get back to Thailand at the moment, surely a student visa is the way to go?
hi Glen , I am the Managing director of a company here and have been for 18 years . Unfortunately I needed to switch my work permit to an other company and then everything happened. It means I have been unable to keep my work permit - which I correctly handed back in . Alas my non IMM B visa also expired 1 st May during this current Amnesty .
I wish to continue living and working in my adopted home and I will continue to try to look after my family my business my companies my staff etc - I will try to do it properly and will reapply for a new non IMM B visa and a new work Permit after this .
Am wondering if the consulates or embassies were still actually issuing the visas .
Like many I will hope things are clearer over the next few days or late next week.
If I have to go so be it - just looking at where I might be able to go to actually start the process
, I think your over simplifying the process and at this time no one I know of has received approval to enter the country based on education :( Not even international students enrolled in Chula, Mahidol, Thammasat etc,

I read that students attending schools or universities approved by the Thai gov can still enter?
Would that mean you could apply to the Thai Embassy in London to get a student visa?
It means you can apply for permission to enter thailand at the thai consulate in the country you're in based on education and IF you meet the reuirements and are approved you can buy an ED visa.
The days of just showing up and buying visas are long gone right now
okay thanks Glen looks like I need to return to UK then and start the whole process again

IF you meet the requirements you can indeed apply for permission to enter the country and the correct visa at the thai consulate in the country you're in.

There are currently 11 demographics of people who can ask to enter the country and they all need to go thru the whole "ask for permission to enter thailand" process and then IF approved they will sell the visa to you.
SO if you're asking can you waltz up to a thai consulate and BUY a visa like you could pre-covid-19-shit-storm, that answer is no :(
appreciated ! After 18 years of work permits and Non IMM B visas I have now neither . Both have finished during the amnesty . I am moving into another company but need to start the whole process again of Letter of employment 3 month visa get WP then get the 12
Month visa - am hoping fingers crossed that something will happen with the amnesty to allow me to remain until Malaysia reopens and quarantine is relaxed but equally I may have to leave and try to get a visa back in UK . Heard that they were not issuing any visas and were only open for basic consular services ( of which I thought would include visas π€¦ββοΈπ€ͺ confused ? Yep I am
thanks ππΌ am going to do whatβs required and necessary - will try for some extension first just not sure yet on what basis . May try embassy route for a letter
