Dear expats, i have a friend from India that wants to come with a tourist visa, but someone from.his travel agency told him that thailand isnt issuing tourist visas for indians at the moment and the embassy isnt replying to him, does anyone know anything about this?
Answer summary
There is confusion regarding the issuance of tourist visas for Indian citizens interested in traveling to Thailand. While one commenter noted that tourists must obtain a visa from VFS Global in India, there are also mentions of a Visa on Arrival option for those who cannot secure a visa beforehand. It appears that individuals are advised to deal directly with VFS Global and not rely on travel agencies, as they may be providing incorrect information.

Vfs global. Urmi Axis Building Mahalaxmi Bombay will do the visa. Need to fulfill all requirements. No need of agent. Check VFS website, get documents ready and go there personally.

If they don't buy a tourist visa before they come here the only other entry option would be a Visa On Arrival which costs 2000baht when they land and only gets them stamped in for 15 days

Unless I'm mistaken visas for thailand in India are gotten thru VFS Global

I'd say they're talking to the WRONG travel agency. Indians CAN get visas before they come here from the thai consulates in India
