Is it true people with valid 5 year DTV Visa are being denied entry into Thailand or even just given 60 days only instead of 6 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There seems to be confusion around whether holders of a valid 5-year DTV visa are being denied entry into Thailand or only receiving a 60-day stamp instead of the usual 6 months. Most participants in the discussion debunk the idea, suggesting that isolated incidents might arise from issues like changes in passport details. Many reaffirm that if all documentation is legitimate and rules are adhered to, there shouldn't be widespread denial of entry for DTV holders.

I saw one post on here about someone in Phuket getting 60 day as they had a new passport and the DTV was on the old one. Not heard of any other examples

If your visa is legit and you follow the rules, I don't think it would happen... but, at the same time, if you have a DTV and you pretend to stay here 5 years and make daily border runs every 6 months, maybe the officer will ask you something...I use common sense

I would have responded sarcastic but I have a flight in 2 days so I need to be careful of my digital prints. 😄 Bro, chill. All those chaos is about visa free. DTV is a visa.

Good practice. I have to hold my tongue so much these days and remember the Chinese proverb "Do not tempt the Gods". 🙂

Came through bangkok international yesterday. Big smiles and a 6 month DTV stamp in my passport. Thank you Thailan.

Hi did you print your visa or show it on the phone?

I’ve had mine ready on my phone but they noted it was already attached to my passport on their system, didn’t need to show the visa at all & they were already aware of it.

So much misinformation is being passed around. I just saw a video on this bs, and then the guy says comment Thailand, and I'll sell you my guide on how to do it right

No 🤣

I mean, it's not 100% impossible, but that would be for very specific cases, not for the general public.

There are a lot of people who got the DTV unlawfully (doctor ed documents, F ake soft power courses, etc. etc) or that have broken the Immigration laws (by working illegally in Thailand) after getting it. It's only natural that Immigration would deny entry if they have proof of a reasonable doubt about specific persons.

Any visa isn't a gold free-pass card, but most of the people have no reasons to worry about.

Unless they post it or do a video of them in bkk detention hotel

I won’t believe it

Everyone will do clickbait algorithms to maximize views

No - where did you hear this unfounded rumor

The only recent instance of this was somebody who had changed passports. It appears the io made a mistake and would not give the 180 day DTV stamp with the old passport number.

No..

The first days of the new orders the Laos border points told people not to exit as they could not exit and re-enter the same day. That was incorrect applications of the new rules and has now stopped.
Ben *****
Any verification of that? There was a post yesterday and multiple people said this was still the case having tried it in the past week.

Only reports from the CM tours going up that it was all back on as of later on 17th..

If its still happening link any posts as its worth noting.

Good to know, but I always knew that as long as you were not returning the same day (or if you came by car, thus being in the car lane) you wouldn't even be questioned.

However, it is also re-assuring that those on DTVs who may want or need to re-enter the same day can do so...
