Hello, I have entered Thailand three times this year and have previously extended my visa once. I am currently staying under a visa exemption and have not yet extended my stay for this entry. Am I still eligible to apply for an extension? Has anyone done multiple times or any idea ?
Answer summary
The user is inquiring whether they can apply for a visa extension in Thailand after entering the country three times in one year, currently staying under a visa exemption, and having previously extended their visa once. Responses from the community indicate varying experiences with extensions, suggesting that while a previous extension does not typically count against future applications, the outcome can depend on individual circumstances and the discretion of immigration officers.

Based on statistical explanations, you are not likely to be denied the extension and your previous request for extension is not counted towards the concern of being denied this time. The only reason that you would be denied extension this time is that you are suspected to illegally be working in Thailand. Keep your attachment paper clean and you are most likely to be approved.

Have you really "previously extended my visa once" or was that a visa exempt extension? If a visa exempt extension then be prepared for just a 7 days extension at best.

Pay a bit extra to a really reliable agent like an established education school and you’re guaranteed 30 days. The cost will be around 3500 baht instead of the 2000 if you went directly to immigration. No one on here will give you this advice but it does exist and it is guaranteed.

TurquoiseCorgi4788 any specific reason?

HopefulCranberry8882 the reason is I read many many people having issues to apply visa extensions twice in a year.

HopefulCranberry8882 the officer looks at your recent 12-18 months touristic stay history. If he thinks that you are misusing touristic entries and their extensions for a longstay in Thailand, he .can deny the extension. As a rule of thumb the risk is high after you have already reached a total of 150 days or more within the recent 1-year period

HopefulCranberry8882 • Original passport with at least 6 months of validity, plus photocopies of the bio data page y!mostly you copy in the office for a small fee) Completed Form TM.7 : you get that in the office.

• One recent photograph (4x6 cm) attached to the form.

• Proof of residence in Thailand (such as a hotel booking, rental agreement, or TM.30 form).

• Proof of funds (equivalent to 20,000 Baht per person).

• Fee: 1,900 Thai Baht (payable only in cash at the immigration office).

Ronny Liekens you don't need to show proof of funds of 20,000 THB when applying for a tourist extension, and you don't need a photo, and your worst mistake of them all is, you don't need a 6-months validity left in your passport for a 30-days extension

You might only get a 7 day extension this time round, or you might not get one at all, or you might get 30 days. Nobody can tell you other than the immigration officer
