Hi, Tod Daniels! Sorry to hijack this thread. My final visa extension is ending in a couple of months and I would like to continue studying Japanese. However, since the school is only allowed to offer one level for Japanese (according to them), they suggested that I sign up for a new language course (while actually continuing with my Japanese lessons). That next course is starting two months after my final visa extension expires.
1. Would it be possible for me to get a tourist visa to cover the two months and then get the new ED visa after that?
2. The school told me that I won't have to cancel the first ED visa, but based on your explanation above, it seems that I have to because it's not really the next level if I'm technically starting a new course. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you!
