TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for obtaining a Retirement Visa (Non-OA) from VFS Kolkata for Indian nationals. Key points include confusion about whether to show funds in a Thai bank account or an Indian one, with clarification that funds in an Indian bank account are sufficient. For detailed requirements, users are directed to the VFS website and specific links regarding the visa process.

Go to this link, click the consulate you're wanting to use, click the O-A Long Stay visa option and read the requirements
people in india HAVE to use VFS or that one other company to apply for visas at the consulates there

My understanding is VFS is an agency, and agencies aren't needed. You can do it yourself [EDIT: Unless you're in India!]. Also, what exactly is an "retirement visa"?
