Hello everyone. Does an U.S. citizen need to notarize his copy of the passport if he wishes to marry a Thai citizen. I got the affirmation of freedom to marry stamped by the embassy, but I did not stamp the copy of the passport because I was told at the embassy that they were not sure if I needed it l. Yesterday, I tried to translate the documents into Thai, and I was told I had to come back to the embassy and get my passport certified.

Has anyone been to the US Embassy Bangkok to have their passport and USA marriages certificate notarized (certified)? I would like to talk to you about it so I do it correctly. This is for a Non O marriage visa. extension of stay. Thank you in advance.
