With the help of you guys and others I got home to Chiang Mai on a Tourist visa and will marry my Thai wife before the visa runs out. Then I'll get a marriage visa.
It looks like working.
The freedom to marry paper is on it's way to me from the Australian embassy. I will get it translated and certified.
But, there is in some websites mention that this translated paper needs to be further certified in Bangkok - "have the same translated to Thai and certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before heading to the local district office for the marriage registration.'
Question - can I get this 'translated freedom to marry paper' certified in Chiang Mai?
I just extended my SETV for 30 days at the Jomtien Immgration, and ask to apply for my 90 days Non O Visa over 50 (retirement). I had my T86, T7, Passport info page, Visa/stamps page,
2 photos, hotel lease, 2,000 baht and Notary Income letter from U.S. Embassy and translated into thai.
The Immgration officer said i have to take the Notary Income letter to Bangkok to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get it certify (Cerification). What all do i need to take? Anyone know the cost and can i do in one day? Do i need that translated into thai also? Any feed back would be appreciated.
