Hi guys. I'm applying for a 60+30 visa online to the Thai Embassy, London. There are bus tickets into neighbouring countries. Does anybody know for certain please?...

1/ Will they accept a bus ticket?

2/ Can I book the date for 90 days or must be 60?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about applying for a 60+30 visa at the Thai Embassy in London and whether a bus ticket can be accepted as proof of onward travel, as well as if the booking date must be for 60 days instead of 90. Comments suggest mixed experiences: while some users found bus tickets acceptable, others recommend checking with the embassy for definitive guidance, noting that acceptance may vary by individual circumstances.

You could ask the embassy. Both aspects (bus vs flight, and 60 vs 90 days) are within a grey area in which both interpretations could be valid.

It is generally assumed that only the original 60 days qualify, but as many embassies also understand how unimaginably weird it really is to require that while at the same time offering travelers the opportunity to extend by 30 days, many do actually accept onward travel within 90 days instead.

I think the bus ticket is less likely to be acceptable by an Embassy, but some airlines do accept it in case you'd use visa exemption. It's hard to deduce what immigrations requires upon entry, because they never check. The rule is that the officer "could" accept it. So he/she could also not. Some airlines argue that if it's addressed this way it must be for a reason and that it hence should be ok. Others apply the stricter interpretation. But if I'm correct, most embassies accept only air travel.

So ask your embassy to know for sure.

thanks. That's the answer I was looking for. Others guessing (wrongly) but you've actually done it.

The ticket was an online application 60+30? London Embassy? To leave after 90 days?

I had one not long ago and I had booked a 90 day flight and the check in desk were perfectly aware that the visa could be extended by 30 days. I don't believe they will accept bus tickets but there are plenty of cheap flights in and out to adjacent Counties.

the check-in desk cannot check proof of onward travel when you have a visa. That is why they accepted it.

thanks. Though I believe they do accept bus tickets. Just need to be sure. Hopefully somebody knows for sure. I get the point about flights. But there are bus tickets $50 less which are perfect for my plans.

You could always an onward full fare fully refundable ticket and and cancel when you het into Thailand?

sure, it's an option. This is the problem I have with this question. Lots of helpful ideas, but nobody knows if they accept a bus ticket or not. But this is my question.

It all depends on what the Airline think is and onward ticket. I don't think that any real coach lines actually travel across borders. Rather you get off and walk to a connecting bus etc.

So are you flying in on a one way ticket?

I have a flight back home after 6 months. Just need to bridge the 90 day visas.
