Hi, so I'm doing my visa (tourist) run to Penang shortly, and been told i need outbound flight ticket (paid) to prove i leave Thailand within my visa validity dates.. I will no doubt be getting a bus out of the country, and not flying. Can somebody please tell me, from recent experience, if a paid bus ticket is sufficient enough to prove I'm leaving Thailand? Any advice is very much appreciated. It seems silly i have to have a booked flight considering most people travel around by land when in SE Asia. Thanks for any advice in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discussion addresses whether a paid bus ticket is adequate proof of onward travel when leaving Thailand for a visa run. Responses indicate that a bus ticket is generally accepted as proof, with several users sharing positive experiences of using bus tickets for similar situations. It appears that as long as there is some form of evidence proving departure from Thailand, the specific mode of transport, such as a bus, does not hinder the visa process.
When I did my run to Penang there was a very industrious guy parked up just outside Consulate. Photos can be taken and printed on the spot. He makes an online booking in your name and passport number. Prints it off as proof of onward flight. Cancels it three days later. Same thing with hotel bookings. Charges a fee but very reasonable.
I have done tourist visa in Yangon (Myanmar) and Manila (Philippines) with a written statement that I will continue my journey by land to Cambodia. I didn't attached a bus ticket. It was accepted.
