Hi All

Me and my partner are travelling to Thailand in a few days from the uk.

We will be entering on the visa exemption.

We have a bus ticket booked to Padang from Thailand , but I was wondering if we would be able to use this as our onward travel or do we need a flight booked ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler and their partner are entering Thailand on a visa exemption and have a bus ticket booked to Padang. They question whether this bus ticket is sufficient as proof of onward travel or if a flight booking is necessary. Responses indicate that acceptance of a bus ticket may vary by airline and suggest contacting the airline to confirm their policy.

It’ll be up to the airline I’m sure it should be fine

Some airlines will accept a bus ticket and some will not. You might try contacting your airline to see if A) they require proof of onward travel for those traveling to Thailand without a visa and B ) If they accept a bus ticket as proof of onward travel.

It's your airline that will be asking, if anyone does ask.

the only time the immigration officers in Thailand will ask is if they're already looking for a reason to deny you entry.
