TLDR : Answer Summary
As of July 1, there has been no official announcement from the Thai Embassy in Canberra regarding the implementation of Mandatory Health Insurance for O-A non-immigrant long stay visas based on retirement. Members of the community are waiting for clarity, as rumors have circulated in Thai media about potential new requirements for tourists and retirees.

No announcements in Thai media also. We will found out as soon as it becomes official. Only a Phuket magazine started rumor about health insurance for every tourist starting end of this year. I guess I heard that rumor about dozens of times in the last past years.
