I have obtained certificate of residence from immigration and today was successful in opening a bank account with Krungthai Bank.
What is the correct way to transfer the 800,000 ?
Can I just do it from my UK bank direct to Krungthai bank?
Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user who recently arrived in Thailand on a Non-O visa has opened a bank account with Krungthai Bank and is seeking advice on how to transfer 800,000 baht from their UK bank account. Multiple comments suggest it is possible to conduct a direct bank transfer, with options like Wise for potentially lower fees, although the standard SWIFT transfer is recommended for reliability.

I wouldn't recommend using WISE, because their maximum amount for a transfer to a Khrung Thai bank account is 50,000 THB. He would have to manage 19 individual transfers
it’s safe and secure but can be a giant pain in the ass. I had a 30 min phone call from my bank with repeated questions over and over as to whether I may have been scammed etc.
simple he asked can you and the answer is yes. I also said its not the best rate but it is safe as its bank to bank. I never gave advice I answered his question
Wise is a cheaper way of transferring but may not show as an international transfer depending on the intermediary bank they use. For 800k you’ll possibly not save any fees so just do a swift transfer that is guaranteed to show as an international transaction.
