TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can exchange crisp US dollars for Thai baht at the airport, but it is not recommended due to unfavorable exchange rates. Travelers advise changing only a small amount at the airport for immediate needs and suggest going to Super Rich, located in the basement near the train station, for better rates once you're in the city.

Go to SuperRichTH on the ground floor and change as much as you want it’s the best rate you will get anywhere in Thailand so you won’t lose out regardless of how much you change, just be careful carrying lots of cash about 🙏

Just what you need to get into town, get does in the basement by train station at Super Rich.

Then head to Super Rich headquarters in town to get significantly better rate

You will get a slightly better exchange rate with $50 and $100 bills than $20 (and smaller) bills. I save my smaller bills for other countries that like $$$.

They have a Superrich on the basement level, exchange your money there, they offer very good rates, but make sure your notes are in pristine condition.

I'm going to do you a solid here😀 Head to the basement of the airport, by where the trains are.

Have a booth there. The rates are pretty close to live, better than Chase/Revolut etc.

Also great deals on sims👍🏻 This is CURRENT information 😀👍🏻💰

Change enough to get by until you get to Bangkok and then go to Super Rich to change money at a better rate.

I also recommend that you do not buy a SIM card at the airport, you will pay more than you need to.

Usually they also prefer larger, unblemished (no writing, folds or tears) bills.
