Hello to everyone! First of all, I’d like to thank you for sharing your wisdom about how to visit and live in Thailand. I’ll be there at the end of the year on a 6-month multi entry (fingers crossed) and then, I’ll be back to get my retirement visa so I can live there all year. I have read about that Thai authorities will begin taxing expat residents and I have two questions about that: 1. Will this include pensioners? and 2. Does that mean that expat residents will be eligible for free national healthcare? Thanks. ‘See’ you soon.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user asks about two key issues regarding expat taxation in Thailand related to upcoming policies which may affect pensioners and national healthcare eligibility. The comments reflect uncertainty about whether pensioners will be included in the new tax regulations and emphasize that current information is scarce. There is skepticism about pensioners receiving free national healthcare, with most responses indicating that retirees are unlikely to be affected by these tax changes.

The new tax is designed to target digital nomads working and living in the country on tourism-based entries

Wait until the changes are announced in Royal Gazette, until then nobody knows what will be decided.

1. No one knows yet what it really means.

2. I’m 100% sure the answer is no.

1. No details have been revealed about the plan but it's not likely to affect retirees at all, especially those from a country with a dual tax treaty with Thailand. Anyone that tells yes or no doesn't know what they're talking about because the government doesn't even know yet.

2) doubtful
