Will my previous visa exemptions affect my dtv visa application?

In need of educated opinions and advice

I plan to get the dtv visa via workation. My concern is that I’ve been in Thailand on visa exemption since March 2025 until now and have done 3 border runs in 2025 to renew my visa exemptions. Will this lower my chances of approval? I stayed all of 2024 on a 1 year ed visa. I’m a USA national

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about applying for a DTV visa (Digital Nomad Visa) after having stayed in Thailand on visa exemption and conducting multiple border runs. Several comments suggest that as long as the user qualifies for the DTV visa and submits a thorough application, their travel history should not negatively impact approval chances. There are also discussions regarding taxation for long stays and documentation requirements, with advice to possibly use a reputable agent for assistance.

After many years playing games, you finally followed the advice, get the correct visa.

So no problem to leave this lovely country and apply for the visa, do not worry about the stamps, you need to upload your passport details.

Documenting your employment is clearly more complicated than getting a letter for a cultural class. I suggest finding a reputable agent to file for you, and packing for a 10 day trip in a neighboring country. I don't see any issue with your travel history.

thanks. I hope you’re right. I’ve been seeing other posts with people stating that a bunch of back to back visa exempt entries can be a reason for denial so I don’t know what to think tbh

Its not a problem as long as you qualify for the visa.

Make sure to make a GOOD application for easy acceptance.

I seem in a similar situation. My understanding is this is the purpose of DTV, to help people in this situation and verify our ability to support ourselves.

One concern is since 2024 people staying over 180 days in Thailand are subject to taxes. Reporting income does very much reveal this concern. I wasn’t qualifying fortunately (since I stayed outside Thailand over 6 months last year. But if you did you should get your taxes in order I would think.

have everything neat and in order with a cover letter and glossary for each section, stating each of the documents provided. That’s what I did anyway, as well as providing everything they could possibly ask for based on the information found in this group.
