TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether a one-way flight from the UK to Thailand, followed by a departure to Cambodia after 43 days, will be accepted by Thai immigration and their airline. Community comments clarify that acceptance largely depends on the airline's policies regarding proof of onward travel. While most airlines require some form of onward travel, Thai immigration is typically less stringent. Suggestions include checking with the airline for specific requirements and understanding that rules may vary between different carriers.

and I think at this point the O/P knows it's air carrier dependent so and they will check with their carrier,
Thanx one and all (y)

The airlines just want to see an exit ticket from Thailand to any other destination. Can be a bus ticket also.

Depends on the carrier. In my experience Gulf Air have never asked to see return/onward flight or visa, Lufthansa and Finnair have always asked. I have never been asked by Thai immigration for proof of onward travel.
Air France at Manchester Airport TRIED That with me I Had a Marriage Visa but only a One-Way Ticket, Check In Girl said " Oh You CANNOT Travel with this Airline on a One Way Ticket " I Told her get her Supervisor who duly arrived saw my Visa & asked when I was returning to the U.K. I Said " Maybe I Am /Maybe I Am NOT " & I Also said " Why Did Your Airline SELL Me a O/W Ticket If I Cannot travel on it......Beat Them All ends up.....

Depending on the airline. On my return flight end of August the airline refused all passengers without a visa when they didn't have a connecting flight same day of arrival

Tod is right, it absolutely depends on the carrier (and sometimes immigration aren't that fussy!). My airline asked me why I only had a one way ticket, and I explained that I was landing and applying for a retirement visa. They were more than happy with that. (I did have a throwaway ticket but was never asked for it either by the airline or immigration).
Some airlines are excessively picky because they have to bear the cost of flying you back if things go wrong, and half the time the check-in staff play it very safe.

READ THIS POST people before you comment. The O/P has a one way flight here with one carrier BUT then BEFORE their 45 day stamp runs out they have a flight OUT of thailand on another carrier (meeting the proof of onward travel requirement in place by most carriers)
They need to check with their air carrier, because some carriers say you have to show a "return ticket" <- that means going back to where you come from not just bouncing to cambodia..
check with your air carrier to see if their policy for you flying visa exempt is only onward travel (when your cambodia ticket will work) OR if they require a return ticket.
You won't have ANY issues stamping in here IF you manage to check in with your airline.
