TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers are advised to consider their onward travel arrangements when flying to Thailand, particularly with a one-way ticket. While some users reported no issues boarding flights to Thailand without an onward ticket, recommendations indicate securing a ticket for peace of mind. Refundable flight tickets or bus tickets to Cambodia may suffice, but airline policies vary, and passengers might face scrutiny at check-in, as airlines ensure that travelers meet entry requirements. It's prudent to check with the airline and carry proof of onward travel.

Was asked at check in desk by British Airways staff if I was travelling on a visa, then they had a good look at it. Wasn't asked for onward or return travel details. UK passport. 2 month single entry tourist visa. (no one ever asked me this before when leaving the UK) This happened 20 mins ago.

Purchase refundable flight tickets to Cambodia from Thailand. Then cancel if not required.

I always use cheapest possible airasia tickets. When i do not use i can have refund the tax - parts of the ticket.

Not Air I think I used before for same reason. Always check cancellation charges and obviously cheaper flight tickets

With refundable many times there is "office fee" or whatever fee about same amount as to buy cheap ticket you do not use so read the small print

I've heard a bus ticket is no good at all. The airline that brings you is responsible for you being allowed to enter, and remove you if you can't. They Don't deal with buses. As Tod said, having a tourist visa negates all these worries.

Don't be so defiant. Go with the flow.

Will query you if know onward ticket.or less you have.relevent visas.non o or o.a.

you are far more likely to be questioned at the check in counter when you check into your flight comin' to thailand without having bought a visa before hand than you are likely to be questioned about not having onward travel when you arrive here and get stamped in
