For the brains trust. A non- o based on marriage issued perth, oz. multiple entry. Have been on this type visa for last 11 yrs. luck would have it that i have some work (offshore) coming up in Thailand. How does this effect my non-o? IE: do I lose my non-o (expires December) or does it get put on hold so to speak from issue of work permit until permit is cancelled then valid again? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The non-O visa based on marriage remains valid even if you obtain a work permit (WP) for employment in Thailand. Your marriage-based visa is not affected by your employment status, so you will not lose your non-O visa when you start working.

Sergey gave you spot on advice. Whether you hold a work permit and work in thailand or not the visa was issued based on marriage NOT employment and it's totally unaffected..

You can have WP with both types of visa - "non-O based on marriage" and "non-B". Getting or cancelling WP should not affect your visa based on marriage, afaik.
