Will my new passport be linked to my previous one and will it affect re-entry into Thailand with multiple recent visas?

Theyd have to mean a 30 day visa exempt entry because there is NO such thing as a 30 day visa of any kind ;)

, nope, not at all.

A red stamp a consulate gives you is because you pulled too many visas from them.

The thai consulates aren't tied into a data base, they just page thru your passport.

The people at passport control when you stamp in are ALL tied into the same data base.

New passport or not they know all your entry history when you stamp in.

so you are essentially saying the loop hole of getting red stamped in passport and then getting a new passport has been closed..? Thats how i managed to stay in the country for 5 years, whenever I got red stamped I simply applied for new passport. Although my visa situation has changed now -- im just curious if the authorities have caught up with that trick...?

Ah ok. A friend has an Australian visa with a MetV that has recently expired. He also has an NZ passport that he wishes to apply for a MetV on. This passport has absolutely no history on it. Would that be a problem?

Some nationalities are given much more scrutiny when entering the country. :(
