Will my new passport be linked to my previous one and will it affect re-entry into Thailand with multiple recent visas?

Two questions:

1. If you arrive on a new passport, does the system link it to your old passport?

2. In the past year I have had 3 TV's (extended only 1 of the 3) and one 30 day exempt visa. If I arrive soon on another 30 day visa will I perhaps have a problem getting in? Would fly into BKK. (I am of age to be retired in LOS if that makes a difference)

I have tried to find previous posts with these questions .. to no avail.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The new passport will still be linked to your arrival and departure history based on personal details such as birth date, name, and country of origin. Even with a new passport, your prior entry history remains accessible to immigration authorities. Therefore, with your previous record of three tourist visas and one recent visa exemption, it's generally unlikely you will face issues re-entering Thailand on a new 30-day visa-exempt stamp.

Theyd have to mean a 30 day visa exempt entry because there is NO such thing as a 30 day visa of any kind ;)

Your entry history is linked to a bunch of things, DOB, country of origin, name etc. A new passport will still show your old arrival departure history.

However, with that being said, your entry history is such that you're unlikely to have a problem flyin' in on a 30 day visa exempt stamp.

, nope, not at all.

A red stamp a consulate gives you is because you pulled too many visas from them.

The thai consulates aren't tied into a data base, they just page thru your passport.

The people at passport control when you stamp in are ALL tied into the same data base.

New passport or not they know all your entry history when you stamp in.

so you are essentially saying the loop hole of getting red stamped in passport and then getting a new passport has been closed..? Thats how i managed to stay in the country for 5 years, whenever I got red stamped I simply applied for new passport. Although my visa situation has changed now -- im just curious if the authorities have caught up with that trick...?

I know of many many others who have and still are doing the same. The old pp swaperoo trick

. Should be no problem. The embassy/consulate where he applies would inform him if there is a problem.

Ah ok. A friend has an Australian visa with a MetV that has recently expired. He also has an NZ passport that he wishes to apply for a MetV on. This passport has absolutely no history on it. Would that be a problem?

, not all passports are equal in the eyes of the powerz-that-b :/

Some nationalities are given much more scrutiny when entering the country. :(

Would the same apply to passports of differing countries?
