Will I overstay my Non-Immigrant Category O visa if I apply for an extension after 90 days?

Hello guys,

I am planning to come to Thailand on Non-immigrant category O visa (90 days).

Since I have to get 400k from India and open a bank account, it might take few days and then I will have to park the money for 2 months before applying 1 year extension which will be somewhere in first week of 3rd month. So wouldn’t it be a little late as my visa expires on 90th day and immigration will take 1 month to consider the extension?

Would I be overstaying in that case or it doesn’t count since the visa is under consideration?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to come to Thailand on a Non-Immigrant Category O visa and has concerns about potentially overstaying. They need to transfer 400k from India to open a bank account, which requires time, and they plan to apply for a one-year extension before their visa expires on the 90th day. A comment suggests that as long as they apply for the extension before the visa expiration, obtaining the 'under consideration' stamp will grant them permission to stay while their application is processed, preventing any overstay issues.

You should be fine, as long as you hurry to get the account open and the money into it. Once you get the "under consideration" stamp, that is your permission to stay, so you would not go onto overstay.
