I’ll see if I’m able to explain this. I recently extended my retirement visa. Done November 17 2023. Allowed stay in the kingdom until December 12 2024. I’m using an account with 800.000 bath in it. As i understand the rules. There must be 800,000 3 month after and 2 month before. The three month after do they count from nov 17 or dec 12 ? (-). TIA. And sorry if it’s unclear.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question pertains to the timing of the 3-month rule for maintaining 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank account after extending a retirement visa. The general consensus among commenters is that the count could start either from the day the extension is granted or from the end date of the allowed stay, but this can vary by immigration office. To ensure compliance, it's recommended to verify with the local immigration office or err on the side of caution by maintaining the amount for three months post-extension.

I have especially open a second account (fixed: but suitable for immigration) to avoid touching it and risk to fall below the requirements.

that’s exactly what I did. I don’t want to have to worry at all.

That varies by office. Many count 3 months from the day when a new extension is granted (issuing date on the stamp). Some offices want you to keep it until 3 months pass from the new year of extension starts, not the application date (if I remember right).

The best is to check with your local office to be sure. Or keep 3 months from the new extension year starts if you want to take the safe side.
