I’ll be arriving in Thailand via a land border with Cambodia in a few days, as I’m traveling by bike. I was planning to renew my passport in Bangkok (Canadian citizen). My passport still has 6 months and 3 weeks validity. I was planning to spend around 6 weeks in Thailand before heading to Malaysia. Anyone knows if I could encounter any problems getting the 2 months entry stamp at the border?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice regarding potential issues with obtaining a 2-month entry stamp at the border when entering Thailand from Cambodia by bike. They mention they are a Canadian citizen with a passport validity of 6 months and 3 weeks. Comments suggest that they should not encounter problems if they do not have a complicated immigration history, as Thailand does not strictly enforce a 6-month rule on passport validity for entry. However, the user will face restrictions traveling to nearby countries until they receive their new passport, which typically takes about 5 weeks.
Assuming you don't have an extensive entry/stay history to thailand you should get thru by land just fine.
Thailand doesn't have a 6 month passport validity rule, you just need a passport valid for the length of time you'll stamp in for. So you'll be totally okay..
Keep in mind though until you get the new passport you're not going to any nearby countries because most have the "6 month minimum validity" to get in to.
thank you for your detailed response. Nothing exaggerated… a couple visits last year and no visa runs. I wasn’t aware Thailand didn’t have a 6 months requirement.
