Hi. I came into thailand with a two month visa from penang which i could extend in Maehongson another month. It runs out on 14th march, my flight home is on 29th. So i will have to leave the country for visa run. I'm on koh phangan now, thought goin hatyai and back within a day, but i need to know if i would get 30 days when entering landway?

If i only get 14 days it wouldnt be enough until my departure, and i heard there is nothing like overstayfee 500 bht anymore.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking clarification on whether they will receive a 30-day visa upon entering Thailand via land after making a visa run from Koh Phangan to Hatyai. Their current visa expires on March 14th, and their flight is scheduled for March 29th. They are concerned about receiving only a 14-day visa and mention changes to the overstay fees.

There are no more 15 day visa exempt entries by land. They went back to 30 days on Dec 31st 2016.

BUT at that time they put a limit of TWO visa exempt entries by land in a year.

You should be fine 'border-bouncing' to get a 30 day visa exempt entry.

Land entries give you 30 days, no more 15. Max 2 times per calendar year.

But as for what I know Malaysian border don't give stamp if you dont spend 1 night in Malaysia.
